Restaurants!!!?

I'm volunteering with Habitat for Humanity next week, in the upper 9th ward.

We get an hour off for lunch and i was wondering if anyone knew of good places where you can get a quick bite in that area.

Also, what restaurants are there within the city that are a little more vegetarian friendly? Doesn't have to be a specifically vegetarian only restaurant, but a place that offers more then just chicken and beef.

And whats a good place where I can get some killer rice and beans?Restaurants!!!?
Petunia's in the French Quarter is great. They have the best crapes and the French toast is to die for. There is also a pizza place by the French Market that is great. They have a vegetarian pizza with eggplant, tomatoes etc. that is great. They also have an appetizer with corn in it that is awesome. Good luck.
no idea, but their might be a sup n salad

Restaurants!!!?
In 20 years of traveling to NOLA, my husband's favorite red beans are the one's at Mother's, which is at the corner of Tchoupitoulas %26amp; Poydras in the CBD. But be forewarned, if you're truly vegetarian, red beans %26amp; rice isn't your dish -- I've yet to come across a version that wasn't loaded with pork. Even if you can't see chunks of meat, there's probably been bones simmering in the pot.
I am a local New Orleans local. If you give me like a zip code or address , street, something, maybe I can give you a cool restaurant to go too.

The only thing I have to warn you about is the amount of restaurants open for lunch. Especially in the 9th Ward, business is not really booming for the restaurant industry.

Oh, and thank you for volunteering. It means a lot to me , my family , and to this city that you are someone who doesn't just care about themselves, but others who are in need. Thanks !

For red beans and rice , I would recommend Acme Oyster House. They have awesome New Orleans food in general. It's on 504) 522-5973 724 Iberville St, New Orleans, LA.

Also, the best best seafood place in the city is Deanie's Seafood . 841 Iberville St

New Orleans, LA 70112
here you go. http://foodfest.neworleans.com/rest.php

in the middle of the page.. you can click on where in new orleans you want to search.. then next to it.. the type of food. dunno how accurate it is but worth a try. is it the 9th ward next to the French Quarter ? or is it the 7th ward ... hmm.. well .. if you're next to the French Quarter.. theres 100s of restaurants there.

Hey.. what exactly will you be doing for Habitat ? i'm lookin into volunteering .. but i'm not sure for which orgainzation.
No idea
