How do you make a grilled chicken sandwich taste like a restaurants?

I always order a grilled chicken sandwich at restaurants and they are so good! Especially Red Robin...then I try to make one at home and it tastes awful! I have tried various marinades, but they taste weird. These are just plain chicken sandwiches but taste completely different than what I make. Why? How is a Red Robin chicken sandwich so much better? I've tried several kinds of chicken breast and it doesn't make a difference. How do you make a grilled chicken sandwich taste like a restaurants?
Soak your chicken breast in "Butter Milk" for 8-10hrs. Then coat in your favorite dry rub. I like this:

3 Tbs Kosher Brown Sugar

2 Tbs Kosher Salt

1 Tbs Chili Powder

1 Tbs Paprika

1 Tsp onion powder

1 Tsp Old Bay

Also Buttering and Grilling the inside part of your buns will really improve the flavor of what ever is in it.
I never tried the Red Robin grilled chicken sandwich to be honest. I prefer the more fatening kind that are fried. However.. it may all be in the sauce or marinade.. grilled foods in general have less flavor.. I know what you mean.. I tried to duplicate some salads.. and they never ever come out the anywhere near when I eat out. love sun dried tomatoes on a chicken sandwitch. You have to pre soak them first. Spinach and sundried tomatoes are good together so that the chicken soaks up the flavor and the chicken will be juicier when cooked. The kind of sandwitch bread you use makes a big difference too.. I like rustic thick crusted bread. You can marinate the chicken in plain old italian salad dressing the night before. You didn't say if the chicken at Red Robin has a cream sauce on it or if it was dry?

You can search the net for chicken sandwitch.. sauces.. alot of times its all in how they grill it.. that makes it tast charcoal broiled. The food network has some of the best top recpies going. If all else fails..lightly batter it with egg , flour or italian bread crumbs and fry it in either sauting olive oil or peanut oil and I bet you will love that! How do you make a grilled chicken sandwich taste like a restaurants?
This is how I make my favorite chicken sandwiches:

Thaw and boil a chicken breast for 5-10 minutes

Put it on the panini maker just until seared

Spray non stick spray on my favorite bread

Place sprayed side down, top with chicken breast, tomato slices, avocado slice, and cheese

(Obviously you can add whatever you like)

Put other bread on sprayed side up

Grill for about 3 minutes

It is so good!
Me I just salt and pepper the chicken breast grill until done.

Butter the bread, add a good cheese, fresh tomatoes and crispy lettuce and whole wheat bun
Here's some ideas
