What are some good restaurants in and around the bay area?

What are some very very very good, fancy, high class restaurants in the Bay Area, Half moon bay, or santa cruz? Bay area is in norCal. Iwant to find a very very good place for my parent's 25th anniversary, so please the best out of the best. Food quality is the most important, must have a very beautiful view (like mountains, a city, or the ocean), price range doesnt matter, service must be very good, and must have a good wine list! What are some good restaurants in and around the bay area?

this is my favorite place in California, youll love it
French Laundry, Michael Mina, Gary Danko, Aqua - that is if you can get a reservation.
For a 25th, you want romantic ambiance as well as excellent food and service. My experience has been that most SF restaurants are overrated, over priced, and too noisy to qualify.

I would focus on the Napa area about 1.5 hours north of SF. The French Laundry is highly regarded by the food critics and patrons alike. But it is very, very expensive and hard to get reservations for on anything but long notice.

Auberge du Soleil, north of Napa and in the foothills, is less pricey, but still excellent food and service. The quiet setting overlooking a gorgeous valley is very romantic. ADS is one of my favorites, but you still need reservations well in advance.

My favorite is Chandon, the winery, also located near Napa. Its setting, overlooking a formal garden valley and brook, is very romantic. Sit outside and enjoy the countryside sounds and smells. The food and service are every bit as good as the above two places, but the prices are way cheaper than either one. Reservations are recommended, but not months ahead.

Closer to the Bay, try Scott's at Jack London Square in Oakland. Located on the Alameda Estuary, you have views of the sailboats tacking up and down the water. The food and service are excellent; and there is live, but quiet, music from time to time. If you're coming from SF (Embarcadero), you can ride the ferry boats to Jack London Square and back...that's a nice romantic touch.
scoma's on the wharf or the house of prime rib on van ness , real food
Hi: This may be a repeat answer to a different similar question but you should definitely check out the Michelin Guide that just came out for norcal and bay area. The guide is absolutely world class and they have some of the toughest critics around:

Aqua, Fleur de Lys, and Quince are on that list (you can do a search to look up their websites). But the number one restaurant in the Bay Area is undoubtedly the "French Laundry" in Yountville. You could probably run about $300 per person for lunch (includes tip and wine). It's been voted as one of the top restaurants in the world. And it's been known to take reservations six months in advance because of demand.
I just celebrated our anniversary at The Dining Room, Ritz-Carlton San Francisco. We think the place is good. The chef, Ron Siegel was the winner of the Iron Chef Japan on 1998.
Dopo - Italian food in the Piedmont area of Oakland. Great food, reasonably priced with a nice atmosphere. Chef Angelo is the best!
french laundry in napa
fleur de lyse, cuba de asia in the Cliff hotel
The Carnelian Room at the top of the B of A building in SF. It's the tallest building here in the city. Pricey, food is good and there is a dress code. You can look up online.
