Probably not well especially after her husband ordered 10 buffalo wings, an order of fries and an order of onion ring at a Buffalo, NY wing joint yesterday..
BTW, you are right, they would lose business. The government (or the first lady) has absolutely to right to tell restaurants what they may or may not serve..
After a quick look at her thighs, she should worry about how big her own portions are.

They should serve smaller portions. Americans are bizarre in what they equate value on. Bigger portions more value, I'd rather have smaller portions and quality organic non genetically modified foods, but that's just me. To each their own I suppose.

Some will respond by increasing portion sizes, decreasing the price and advertising the fact that they are flying in the face of the First Lady's initiative. You will find this type of response in most conservative establishments.
On the other hand you will find some that take the advice, reduce the portion sizes, increase the price and advertise that they are toeing the line and supporting the First Lady's initiative. You will find this type of response in most liberal establishments.
Most, however, will ignore that since to retool the kitchens and the suppliers is typically beyond the ability of most local restaurants to accomplish profitably.
Maybe Michelle should stick to her gardening....Just what every patrons wants , give the customer less....Seems like her husband has the same idea when it comes to jobs and leveling the playing field with China....perhaps they discuss it over their small dinners.
If they are smart, they will tell her to mind her own business and let these private companies operate without all the government intrusions.
I don't mind the larger portions. My spouse and I go out to eat and split an entree. We both get the right amount and we don't waste food or money. Our son goes with us and orders the same entree and eats it all himself. He is very athletic and his job requires he be physically fit. His 3% body fat tells me that it is ok for him to eat the whole meal because he will burn it off with activity.
Government is not the answer. Government is the problem.

That's a very heavy handed way to impart her ideas. Not a good sign for a leader of the US. She thinks she has power or something.

No they won't loose money. You do realize only in the US do they serve such outrageous portions? Funny thing is how restaurants in other countries still manage to stay open and make money serving smaller portion sizes.

She's just spreading awareness. Get a life and start demanding that American food companies start using less additives and cutting corners with our food. When you compare the food we eat to the food they eat in other places around the globe, we truly are disgusting people. I'm not saying I don't eat McDonald's like everyone else, but grow up and open your eyes. The state of food in this country is pretty deplorable.
