There are a lot of fine restaurants along Ninth Ave between 42nd and 57th streets. Less pricey and more homey than the ones directly by Times Square. Ralph's Italian by 56th st and Plataforma Churrascaria by 51st st are good choices, if not the cheapest on the strip.
One of my long time favorite restaurants is called Spain and is by Greenwich Village on 13th st, just west of 6th ave. Don't order an appetizer as several are included with the meal. Generous portions. Try the flan for dessert. Drinks are so-so, don't order anything too exotic.
If you want to know about the best NY pizza, email me.
Well the main tourist attractions empire state building, statue of liberty, times sq, central park, Rockefeller center, there's also many cool museums to go to. I don't know many restaurants there but there is this very cute Greek bakery on Amsterdam ave and 114th st (Morningside Heights) by Columbia University. They have very very good desserts and a nice place to grab a quick lunch. You guys might enjoy ice skating at Rockefeller Center, the only downside is it gets pretty busy there in winter time. And don't forget Chinatown (Canal St.).
Good Luck and Have Fun!What places and restaurants should we go in New York City?
I would go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art at 1000 5th Ave. Then I would go to Dallas BBQ at 27 W. 72nd St. for dinner. I would get tickets to see Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic Theatre at 247 W. 44th St. Then I would go to dinner at Carmine's at 200 W. 44th St., having wisely made a reservation beforehand.
Ground Zero, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Battery Park, Central Park...
China Town, Little Italy, Time Square(of course!!), Serendipity(restaurant) (:
