What is the minimum age for waitressing at most restaurants?

I was planning on applying at a few restaurants once I turn 16 but then it occured to me that this might be too young. Does anyone know what the normal age requirement is for waitresses at most restaurants?What is the minimum age for waitressing at most restaurants?
16, but you can't work past 11 pm or more than 40 hours school + work.
