What are some good restaurants for dinner birthday celebrations in downtown Toronto?

Celebrating a friend's birthday this weekend, and I'm looking for a good quality, low priced restaurant to celebrate it in. This restaurant hunting is super hard, and her birthday is coming up super fast! Any suggestions? And fast food restaurants are not the kind I would like to celebrate in.What are some good restaurants for dinner birthday celebrations in downtown Toronto?
I am a former chef and go to this unique little place at Yonge and College St, just up from College Park, it is called Grilltime, it is a Korean grill restaurant, and you cook the meal on a gas grill in front of you at the table, it is all you can eat so you get plenty of food, and they serve side dishes, but if you like a variety or prefer to see the food your eating then I recommend it, I go there 1 a month, for downtown, it depend on how raucous a place and which night you go, places in the Entertainment area on Monday to Wednesday nights are quite nice, actually any place in the downtown area is nice the early part of the week, I also go a a number of Indian buffet restaurant, not only are they quiet but offer a vegetarian menu, plus you choose what you want and how much.
