Can any locals, or knowledgeable people recommend any restaurants in mazatlan Mexico?

Going to be there a week from now. Staying in the Zona Dorada, so I know I will have plenty of restaurants. But I hate paying a lot, and hate touristy places, and want to find the less expensive stuff. Can anyone recommend any good parts of town for eating, or any restaurants in particular? Can any locals, or knowledgeable people recommend any restaurants in mazatlan Mexico?
I've been away from Matzatlan for over a year and sometimes restaurants close or change owners so no guarantees. That said, the only restaurants close to budget in the Zona Dorada are on las Garzas but they serve basically the same food and are constantly competing for gringo dollars. Two that are Worth a try are Jungle Juice(avenida las garzas #101)a good place for seafood .Fish fillets are good and ask about the daily specials. You can also try La Troja on Buelna across from the Hotel San Diego. They have great inexpensive breakfasts.

In Olas Altas,on the malecon, next to the Hotel Belmar is Copa de Leche.Good place for a cheap, filling breakfast if you get up late as they serve well into the afternoon. On the corner of Olas Altas and Osuna is Restaurante y Bar Puerto Vieja ...Great view of the beach and cliffs. Have a beer and a couple of their deliciousTostadas for me

If you find yourself near the Plazuela Machado you have to try El Tunel. They have been feeding people 'Classic Sinaloense" food since the 1940's.My favorites are the Gorditas with a bowl of Pozole 'Sinaloense' and a bottle of Tonical(a vanilla soda made exclusively in Sinaloa). They are located in the tunnel (duh!) across from the movie theater. You might also want to try Machado Fish Tacos in the Plazuela.

Buen Provecho!
