No fast food places please. We're in the Buckhead area but go all around the city. It would be nice to find more restaurants that have healthier kid menus. What are your favorite kid friendly restaurants in Atlanta?
There are two things to consider when talking about kid-friendly restaurants:
1) places where your children won't bother other patrons, and
2) restaurants that serve healthy fare
My daughter is grown, but when she was younger, I often took her to buffet-type places like Ryans Golden Corral or Sweet Tomatoes. I also found that I could keep her busy and quiet by giving her something like spareribs in Chinese restaurants. Japanese hibachi places with entertaining chefs, always held her interest as well.
When S. was a little older, I started taking her to the ethnic restaurants on Buford Hwy. Penang became a favorite. What was a treat -- and something we still often do -- is go to the farmers market across the street. S. was intrigued by the live fish and frogs, being sold for food. We'd also often bought single-serve portions of Asian cakes -- things we weren't familiar with -- and have for dessert. It became a ritual -- something S. looked forward to!
