I'm planning a birthday dinner in Toronto and i was wondering if most restaurants let you bring your own birthday cake in?Do Toronto restaurants let you bring your own birthday cake?
I don't know a thing about the restaurants in Toronto, but most restaurants everywhere will let you bring your own cake in. I don't think anyone would have a problem with it.
most will, but yeah call ahead of time. they'll appreciate that. some charge, some don't. i work as a pastry chef at a restaurant and we get cake brought in pretty often.Do Toronto restaurants let you bring your own birthday cake?

I always call ahead first and ask if this is acceptable, if not then I will make arrangements to use what the restaurant has. But if this is something special like for a extra large crowd or something different like a flavor the restaurant does not provide usually there is no problem.
Pick a restaurant you'd like to go to, then phone and ask. How hard is that?
Most restaurants will allow it, but some will charge a "plating fee" since they would ideally like you to buy dessert. It's usually a few bucks per person, or a flat fee. Never too much, but it's fair considering you're bringing in outside food.
I live here and I've never had a problem. Most of them are happy to oblige. If you have any concerns about a particular place, call them and clear it with them first. Get the name of the person so you have recourse.
