Im writing an article on how to order well at restaurants?

Anyone know any tips.What are some tips to ordering well at restaurants?
first work out how much you can afford to spend.

remember that some places serve huge meals so know whether to have a starter, main and dessert or look at share platters. sometimes you can order an entree size serve for your main course.

If there are a groupf you work out how you are going to split the bill or pay for your own.

If unsure, ask the waiter to recommend dishes based on your likes. then if you are not familiar with wine ordering ask the waiter to suggest the right wine to go with it. ask for small breaks between courses so you have time to digest and enjoy.
go when you are hungary, take time review the menu, make suggestions or ask for suggestions if you do not see something you like drink a glass of water before the meal if the plate of food is smaller than you expected the water will help fill you up so you do not leave still famishedWhat are some tips to ordering well at restaurants?
Ask about specials and recommendations. Ask about substitutions. (If needed). Ask for additional condiments. (If necessary). That's all I can think of for right now.
