Do restaurants keep record of exactly what you ordered on their system or is it just the amount?

Do restaurants keep record of exactly what you ordered on their system or is it just the amount?



I was in a restaurant 3 weeks ago and I received the bill today. I signed for it at the time, but now that I look at the amount, it looks much too high. It matches up with my receipt. I am wondering if most restaurants keep just the amount that was purchased in their system, or do they also keep what exactly what was ordered?Do restaurants keep record of exactly what you ordered on their system or is it just the amount?
It depends what Point of Sale software the restaurant uses. If the food and beverages you purchased are not listed on your receipt, then i highly doubt that information would be stored on their computer.Do restaurants keep record of exactly what you ordered on their system or is it just the amount?
