I keep seeing ads on tv for golden corral and cici's pizza. But the closest of either of these restaurants is in another state 3 hours away. I just dont see the reasoning for them to spend money advertising to areas that cant eat in the restaurants. Its not like either of these are tourist attractions like a casino or something like that. And no there hasnt been any plans announced to open one closer, and the commercials have been airing for several years now.Why do restaurants advertise to areas they have no locations in?
There's a lot of marketing research that goes into advertising. There may be many visitors to the area where the restaurant is located. These visitors may come from your area. Tourism is a billion dollar industry. I'm in AZ. I see advertisements to tour TX, SC, HI and the Carrabean probably because there are a lot of retirees here and they do travel. So there's something in that area that may attract people from your area, not necessarily you specifically. Why do restaurants advertise to areas they have no locations in?
They're National ad buys, so even areas not covered get the ads. Much cheaper than buying each market separately.
