Are restaurants in Pasadena california required to have a fire alarm system? If so, or not. Please elaborate. I work in a restaurant in Pasadena and SSD is trying to sell us a firel alarm system telling us it's required. Is it? I am pretty sure that it is a state law. My church now has to go under construction because it does not have a sprinkler system or a fire alarm. If it is a public building, then yes you have to have one. You can check with your local fire department, they would know the laws.
I am a fire suppression system technician in San Jose, CA. If you are asking about fixed suppression systems that are installed under the hood then yes you have to have one and it has to be serviced every six months and that is state law. There is no state law regarding the installation of alarms.
