Restaurants...?

Are there any FANTABULOUS restaurants in the bay area, that are really cool, and I don't just mean the food is good, but the whole enchalada? (Prices that aren't TOO high please). -thx-Restaurants...?

boca di beppa

the stinking rose

ranforest cafe

cheesecake factory

melting pot in larkspur

bubba gumps

these are all fun places to eat that are not that expensive
My favorite FANTABULOUS restaurants in San Francisco that are really cool and moderately priced include:

1. The Slanted Door - Vietnamese fusion cuisine in the fabulous San Francisco Ferry Building setting. Completely unique, and VERY San Francisco. http://slanteddoor.com/

2. Greens - Exquisite vegetarian cuisine made from ingredients organically farmed at the Green Gulch zen farming community in Marin, so creatively cooked and beautifully served that even die-hard carnivores love this place. And it has the best sunset view in San Francisco. Check this out: http://www.greensrestaurant.com/

3. Kokkari - Terrific Greek cuisine in a beautiful, warm setting. Try to sit by the fireplace. http://www.kokkari.com/

4. Limon - Awesome Peruvian/Latino Fusion cuisine, and probably one of the most fun places in San Francisco. http://www.limon-sf.com/

5. Cafe Claude - Wonderfully authentic French cafe cuisine in a cozy little place hidden down an alley where the tourists never find it. Bonus is great live jazz many evenings. http://www.cafeclaude.com/

Of course, "moderately" priced is a relative term. Better check out the menu prices posted on their web sites before you make a reservation. San Francisco is an expensive city - cost of living here is equivalent to Manhattan. But any of the above are very well worth what you will pay.Restaurants...?
I love Julius Castle for the food, and of course the AMAZING view! They have a website. It was closed for remodeling last year but is most likely re-opened by now. You'll love it!
French Laundry in Yountville (just outside of Napa...wine country) world renowned dining experience...great American cuisine and sea specialties at McCormick %26amp; Kuleto's, amazing views of the bay from bridge to bridge in Ghirardeli Square in the city...Biscuits and Blues on Mason in the city, down to earth eating and blues, how can you go wrong...Spengers in Berkley just off University ave. (just under the freeway ramp) seafood priced right set in a warm harbor atmosphere, the restaurant has been on that site for over 100 years...chowder in a breadbowl at Aliotos (the walk up stand) or Parisian bakery on fishermans wharf...simple and delicious, toss in a fresh crab/shrimp coctail a lemon and call it good...Gracies BBQ in Vallejo on the way to Napa/Sonoma for wine tasting, its on sonoma bvld off virginia and is worth the detour...Highway 29 where Vallejo meets Napa is where 'highway 29' is, outrageously affordable breakfast in big servings well prepared and thoughtfully served...Chart House on the west side of SF...an old SF favorite for many years, remodeled from the old dark setting it had for over 80 years, light bright airy , and a nice bite overlooking seal rock and the ocean... so I listed a number of well regarded restaurants with totally different genres and prices...but one constant...great eating...good luck and enjoy your stay in the bay...
