It tastes like a combination of garlic, salt and butter that is scattered over the outside of a baked potato when served at restaurants. Is the potato rolled in this right before serving or is it put on before baking. Where can I get some of this stuff? What is that stuff over the outside of a baked potato at restaurants?
Usually Kosher salt or sea salt. It is coated with salt or a combination of salt and butter before it is wrapped in the foil, then baked
I use minced garlic out of a small jar..I mix about 1/2 tsp with a lump of butter alittle salt and pepper and wrap tater in foil..yummmy to buy this stuff check walmart or really any grocery store chain the bottle is very small like just slightly bigger than a baby food jarWhat is that stuff over the outside of a baked potato at restaurants?
They might just do it themselves. One place I worked slathered whole potatoes in butter and sprinkled them with kosher salt before baking. Add a little garlic powder and I bet you'd have the same thing.
hmmmm well i put cheese and butter and bacon bits and sometimes ranch um of course salt hmm thats all i put
