I want to prepare bread and dip like served in Italian restaurants like Macaroni Grill. It's the kind where you have sliced bread and dip it into a oil mix consisting of olive oil and a blend of spices; I've seen the oil mixes in the store, but there are several different variety's available. Can you tell me what it's called? Please and thank-you!
~JessWhat kind of olive oil and spice mixes do restaurants like Macaroni Grill use to dip bread in?
I use Carapelli's Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil for the oil. As far as the spices go I mince some garlic, wrap in in foil, and roast in oven for about 10 minutes and add that to the oil (on a small plate/bowl) as well as some, onion powder, some basil, some parm. cheese. You can add any spice you like.

How do you explain the success of fast food restaurants all over the world?
And do you enjoy going to fast food restaurants? why or why not?How do you explain the success of fast food restaurants all over the world?
It's fast food maybe that a clue? any place that can produce a sandwich in 5 minutes is pretty fast!
Dr. David Kessler, former head of the US FDA, explains food addictions in a recent book. Fast food restaurants focus on highly addictive food by manipulating sugars, fats, and salt. Taste trumps health.
KFC uses MSG (a neurotoxin) in virtually every food product they offer. The diet drinks contain aspartame, another neurotoxin and carcenogenic substance.
Fast food restaurants optimize based on taste, low cost, consistency, and shelf life. Health comes into the equation only when it can be spun as a marketing tool. Subway really is not that much more healthy. How do you explain the success of fast food restaurants all over the world?
The success of the fast food industry is due to the fact that they have powerful lobbyists in Washingtion.
The government subsidizes the price of meat by 70%.
So, because of this a big mac cost less than a salad.
And the fast food industry makes a huge profit.
Here is a diagram that explains the problem.

And because the industry is so huge (30% of the world's ice-free land is involved in livestock production) it is killing our environment. The livestock industry produces more greenhouse gasses than all the transportation in the world (cars, boats, trains, planes). In the U.S. livestock is the #1 polluter of fresh waterways (rivers, lakes). Etc.

Unfortunately, some of it is extremely delish. I only go to fast food resturaunts once a month to keep my model type figure, and it's yummy. Yes I do enjoy it because I feel free when i eat delish and cheap food. Thank you for putting this question out into the world.
The world has become so fast-paced, we need convenience. Fast-food is convenience food.
The McDonalds at the Millennium Dome in London was making an average of 拢20000 a day. Scary stuff.
Per calorie it is some of the cheapest food in the world. What would you rather eat, a big mac or fried grubs?
It's cheap and convenient and most of the time it tastes pretty good.
Delicious and quick.

How to make raita taste as fresh as the restaurants?
If I buy yogurt and try to make raita it never tastes as fresh or un-sour as it does in the restaurants... How do I get that un-sour flavor they always have? It doesn't matter which recipe I follow, the yogurt still has that tang that I don't like... Any suggestions? How to make raita taste as fresh as the restaurants?
Bascially, traditional raita is made with fresh made yoghurt, which is sweeter. Making yoghurt at home is easy and I am sure you can find plenty of online recipes. But there is one other option:
The US and even some in India restaurants will usually add a small amount of sugar to the raita (during the whisking process) to take away some of the tang. You do need to whisk the yoghurt and add in your salt, spices, water and sugar and blending well before mixing in any veggies/fruits. And you can keep it chilled by adding a few ice cubes like they do in India, but this can make it a little bit runny.
Additionally important is hand-chopping the fruits and vegetables with a sharp knife, as opposed to using a food processor.
One final suggestion: instead of ground cumin, use freshly roasted and ground cumin seeds: this tastes much better and fresher too.

How long do ketchup packets last from fast food restaurants?
How long do ketchup packets last from fast food restaurants? Do they have an experation date? How long do ketchup packets last from fast food restaurants?
10 years but the taste is bad
They will last many years. Ketchup is non-perishable and since it was sterile when put into that sealed container - nothing can get in to contaminate it.
It would take many years for it to start to taste off - since most of the flavor is just vinegar and salt.
No - they do not have an expiration date. How long do ketchup packets last from fast food restaurants?
several years, but make sure it is not damaged, and remember tomato has acid and it will eventually eat through anything except glass
Forever, if unopened. They will survive a nuclear holocaust! They have so much High Fructose Corn Syrup!!!
like 1 year if u want them to taste fresh.
good question..lol i would say 1 year

What is that spicy green sauce that you always find in mexican restaurants?
I go to 2 different authentic mexican restaurants that aren't fast food like taco bell but aren't fancy sit down restaurants either. They both offer the option of getting little cups of hot sauce that are either red or green. I love the green stuff but I'm just not sure what it is.What is that spicy green sauce that you always find in mexican restaurants?
it is salsa verde...
It's called salsa verde (green sauce) and is very simple to make. For fresh sauce use 5 - 6 tomates verdes also known as tomatillos in the USA, 1 slice of onion, 1 - 6 serrano peppers (depending on how hot you like your sauce) and 1 sprig of cilantro (optional). 1 oz water Liquefy all ingredients in blender. if it seems too thick add a little more water - the tomatillos are actually a thickening agent. Add a pinch of salt.
For cooked salsa place tomatillos, onion and serrano(s) in one quart of boiling water until the color of the tomatillos becomes more olive green. Add cilantro at end of boil (optional). Liquefy vegetables in blender with 1-2 oz. of water from boil. Add a pinch of salt. Enjoy!
Edit: oops I forgot! Another variation is to make the first recipe above, add juice of one lime and one medium avocado. Mash the avocado to a pulp and mix with the salsa. This is NOT to be confused with guacamole in which avocado is the main ingredient. What is that spicy green sauce that you always find in mexican restaurants?
